Obituary of Michael Louis Cohen

Michael Louis Cohen, 84, passed away on November 22, 2023 after a long illness. 

Michael was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma but grew up in Syracuse, New York.  He was the son of David and Esther Cohen.

Michael was the proprietor of Universal Uniforms in Monticello, NY, which he ran for over 20 years until his retirement in 2001.  For many years, he and his wife Blanche were snowbirds between Monticello, NY and Delray Beach, Florida.

He loved spending time with his family and friends, but his most cherished times were those spent with his grandchildren whom he adored.  Michael was an active member of his community and was both a Lion and a Mason.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Blanche; his children, sons Joel Cohen (Lori Pierce) and Howard Swett (Debra) and daughter, Lori Cohen; and his grandchildren Victoria and Austin Swett and Robert Cohen. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his honor can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org or to the charity of your choice.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 26, 2023, at 10 am at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home in Woodbourne, NY. Rabbi Hillel Grossman will officiate.
