James "Jimmy" "Bones" D. Yaskanich, of Liberty, passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2016. He was 62. He was the son of the late John Yaskanich and Marilla Briggs, born on February 14, 1954 in Liberty, NY. Jimmy worked many years for Cable Vision and then went on to work as a bar keep at McCabe's Tavern. In his free time he enjoyed reading and being outdoors, he was also a member of the Elks, and a lifetime member of Old Bastards. Jimmy was always smiling and joking around and he was people person, helping anyone he could in any way. He was an adored brother, uncle and friend to all, he will be deeply missed. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his siblings John Yaskanich of Liberty, Ethel Powell of Madera, CA, Mary Yaskanich of Monticello and Helen Bound and her husband Edward of Grahamsville; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Edwin, Roy, William, Dwight and Andrew. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 5, 2016 from 3 to 5pm at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY 12788. A funeral service will follow at 5pm at the funeral home.
