Obituary of Arthur Eugene Thalmann

Home: Wanasink Lake, New York USA Place of Birth: Jersey City, New Jersey USA Obituary Arthur E. Thalmann Wanasink Lake, NY Arthur Eugene Thalmann of Wanaksink Lake, Rock Hill, NY left us on July 14, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. He was 77 years old. The son of Eugene and Kathryn Thalmann, Art was born in Jersey City, NJ on December 7, 1936. Art served in the U.S. Army in Korea. He started out as a corrections officer at Woodbourne Correctional Facility and while there returned to college to obtain his state Public School Teachers certification to become an educator there. Upon retiring from Woodbourne, he became general manager at Lennon's Power Equipment in Ferndale. Art was involved with numerous organizations. He was a 2nd LT. in the Civil Air Patrol, member of the Blackwood Gunners and Anglers Hunting Club; current member, past president, and 20 yr. secretary of the Liberty Lions; member of the Liberty Elks Lodge #1545; 20 yr. chairman of the Liberty Republican Committee and a past Sullivan County Republican Party committeeman. Art's devoted family includes wife Fran, sons Eugene (Theana) of Patchogue, NY and Daniel of Liberty, NY; daughter Kelly of Boston, MA; brother Charles of Texas and Thomas (Sally) of Florida and sister Barbara (George) of Texas. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandsons. Art was also very fond of his 2 special caregivers, Wendy and Dina. Friends are welcome to stop at Ramsay's Funeral Home at 55 St. John St. , Monticello on Saturday, July 19th from 4-7pm. Liberty Elks will hold a service at 6:30pm. Art will be chauffeured in his Crossfire convertible by his brother Charlie thru Smallwood remembering their childhood days and then to his final resting place in Bloomingburg Rural Cemetery.
