Obituary of Edward Soto

Home: Loch Sheldrake, New York USA Place of Birth: New York, New York USA Obituary Edward Soto Loch Sheldrake, NY Edward Soto, a 30-year area resident, passed away on Sunday February 7, 2016 at Catskill Regional Medical Center. He passed peacefully after a long illness with his loving wife and family by his side. He was 59. Edward was born on November 6, 1956 in Manhattan to the late Juan Soto and Lula Arroyo Soto. He moved here from Manhattan. Edward was a fun-loving, intelligent and affectionate man who strongly believed in God. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Liberty, NY. He was a US Marine Veteran, serving from 1975 - 1976. Edward was a music lover who loved to play music with his brothers and cousins. He liked to go to shows and concerts. Edward enjoyed being with family and friends and having a good time. He loved to make people laugh - he always had jokes to tell and he was kind to everyone. He also loved spending time with his canine kids. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Edward is survived by his loving wife, Debra Soto, whom he met at the Brown's Hotel in Loch Sheldrake; son, Edward Soto Jr. (Adrianna) of Miami, FL; daughter, Stacey Soto of Bronx, NY; brother, Sammy Soto of Puerto Rico; sisters, Lucy Soto of Liberty, NY and Virginia Rodrigues of California; sister-in-law, Gloria Carcedo; seven grandchildren; a great-grandson and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Elias and John Soto and a sister, Marjorie Soto. Visiting hours will be on Friday February 12 from Noon to 2 PM at Ramsay's Funeral Home, 275 S. Main St. Liberty, NY. Funeral services will take place at the funeral home at 2PM with Pastor Gary Wilcox officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery, Sunset Lake Rd. Liberty, NY.
