Obituary of Pauline Vetter Staats

Home: Willowemoc, New York USA Place of Birth: Queens, New York USA Obituary Pauline M. Vetter-Staats Livingston Manor, NY Pauline Marie Vetter-Staats, of Livingston Manor, passed away on Friday May 5, 2017 at Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris, NY. She was 68. She was born on January 18, 1949 in Queens, NY to the late Paul and Marie Vetter. She attended high school at St. Joseph's, graduating in 1967, then going on to earn a degree in Nursing from St. John's in NYC. She worked as a nurse for the Veterans Administration for over 30 years; her last position was at Castle Point VA in Wappingers Falls, NY. After her retirement, she became President of the local Lions Chapter and worked tirelessly as a volunteer for the Time in the Valley Museum in Grahamsville, NY. Pauline enjoyed spending her spare time reading and listening to classic literature, acting as family historian and taking care of her loving husband. Pauline is survived by her husband, Phil Staats, at home and formerly of Red Hook, NY; stepchildren, Megan, Sara and Jeremy; her brother, Karl Vetter of Hobe Sound, FL; sisters-in-law, Kitty Vetter of Livingston Manor and Sally Heiken; brother-in-law, John Staats; niece Danielle (Dave) Cornish of Willowemoc and nephew, Gene (Stephanie) Vetter of Greenfield Center, NY and great-nieces, Carley and Samantha. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Walter and Paul Vetter. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Willowemoc Community, the Tri-Valley Lions Club and the Time in the Valley Museum. Memorial donations may be made in Pauline's memory to the Time in the Valley Museum or the Tri-Valley Lion's Club, Journey for Sight. Memorial services will be held on Saturday May 13, 2017 at the Willowemoc Baptist Church on Church Rd. in the village of Willowemoc at 11 AM with Pastor Chris DeLong officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather and reflect at the Time in the Valley Museum in Grahamsville, NY at 1:00 PM.
