Obituary of Joseph Jay Blais

Joseph Jay Blais of Bethel NY passed away at Orange Regional Medical Center on February 23, 2018 surrounded by family and loved ones. He was 60.
Born in Liberty NY on March 28, 1957 to Joseph and Doris Grant Blais. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years Sherri Teller Blais of Bethel, his sons Chris and Adrienne Blais, James and Jackie Blais, Michael and Ashley Green and 3 grandchildren that he adored, Evan, Jacob and Julia. He is also survived by his brother Robert and Linda Blais of Bethel and his sister Linda and Forest Gorton of Jeffersonville. He also leaves behind nieces and nephews who he loved as his own.
Jay graduated from JYCS class of 1976 and went straight to work for Monticello Black Top for 20 years, from there he worked for the Town of Bethel Highway Department for 10 years before retirement. Jay was a past Chief and President of the Kauneonga Lake fire Department which he served for over 30 years. 
In lieu of flowers, donations in Joseph's name can be made to Bethel Volunteer Ambulance Corp., 3454 State Route 55, White Lake, NY 12786.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm on Monday, February 26th at Colonial-Ramsay Funeral Home, 3534 State Route 55, Kauneonga Lake, NY. A firematic service will be held at 7:30pm. A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, February 27th at the funeral home. Rev. David Coon will officiate. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
