Poindexter III, of Wurtsboro, NY, entered into eternal peace to be with our Heavenly Father on September 2, 2013. James was born on October 16, 1985 in Goshen, NY, the beloved son of Loretta A. Singleton Poindexter and James E. Poindexter Sr. James was predeceased by his loving maternal grandparents, Thelma N. Austin and Marvin Austin Sr.; paternal grandparents, Mary H. Poindexter and Fletcher Poindexter; uncles Marvin and Robert; Aunt Anna and his brothers, James Jr. and Paris. James was a lifelong resident of Sullivan County. He graduated from Monticello High School and attended Sullivan County Community College. He loved the natural beauty of art. James recently moved to Florida where he was employed with the Boys and Girls Club of Hernando County, Florida. He also worked at Fox Chapel Middle School. He was a mentor of life skills and a sports coach. James loved his children, family and loved painting on canvas with oils. James is the beloved son of Loretta Poindexter and he was the loving nephew of Donald Austin and Juanita Matthews; beloved brother to Kimberly, Micheal, Nylyn, William and Nelson; loving father of Jalysa Marie, Jusiah James and Isaiah Jose (Keep them all in your prayers); beloved uncle of Tommy, Ashley, Kevin, Felix, Jasmine, Jasa, Ja'Nya, Jason Jr., Samuel, William Jr. and baby Austin; dear brother-in-law of Edward, Jason and Brittany; cherished friend of Jessica and Tenice. James leaves a host of relatives and friends to cherish his loving memories. To James - Always in Our Hearts: You bid no one a last farewell Or even said goodbye. You were gone before we know And only God knows why. It broke our hearts to lose you, But you didn't go alone. Part of us went with you, The day God called you home. In Loving sorrow, Your Family Visitation will be on Sat. Sept. 21 from 1- 2 PM at Ramsay's Funeral Home, 55 St. John St. Monticello, NY. Memorial services for James will be 1 PM at the funeral home.
