Home: Loch Sheldrake, New York USA Place of Birth: Brookl;yn, New York USA Michael D'Alessandro June 22, 1954 - May 16, 2016 Loch Sheldrake, NY Michael D'Alessandro of Loch Sheldrake, NY passed away on May 16, 2016 at Catskill Regional Medical Center. He was 61 years old. He was surrounded by his loving family and those close with him. Michael is the son of Lenore D'Alessandro and the late Alfred D'Alessandro; he was born in Brooklyn, New York on June 22, 1954. His Mom, Lenore D'Alessandro of Cochecton NY, brothers, Robert D'Alessandro and Richard D'Alessandro of Cochecton NY, Kenneth and Linda D'Alessandro, as well as his two nephews Dylan and James, and his extended family at New Hope Community survive Michael. He is predeceased by his father Alfred D'Alessandro and sister Susan D'Alessandro. Michael was best described as having a larger than life personality that could brighten up any day. He was a social and outgoing man with a welcoming and endearing smile. His lighthearted spirit was infectious and brought joy to everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him. Michael was the youngest of five siblings and family was a priority for him. He looked forward to spending quality time with his family and would spend every weekend and holiday with his Mom, brothers and Wilbur their dog. Michael was known for his sarcastic sense of humor and wit. He would often tease people about their cooking, (of course never Mom's cooking). Michael was well known for his artwork and had a nickname of "Picasso". His work has been on display throughout the years at several local art galleries and remains on display in his home. He enjoyed making birthday cards for those closest to him and painting birdhouses. Michael also had a sense of adventure and enjoyed many activities with his brothers such as scuba diving in their pool and hitting the water on a speed boat with friends. Mike was an original member of the horse barn group in Loch Sheldrake and was always so willing to join in and try new things as they pioneered the new program. Mike had a love for music, one of his favorite songs being "This Land is your Land" by Woody Guthrie and he was a devoted fan of his brother Bob's band. Michael's presence, his spirit, his quick wit and his love for family and friends will be greatly missed. He touched so many people who will forever have good memories to cherish for a lifetime. He will be missed dearly. Cremation took place at Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope, NY.
