Obituary of John Bogan

John E. Bogan, a lifetime resident of Liberty, New York, passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at Achieve Rehab and Nursing Facility. He was 86. The son of the late Elijah and Genevive Roman Bogan , he was born on December 18, 1932 in Carbondale, Pennsylvania. John served our country in the United States Marine Corp. during the Korean War. He worked in the New York State Department of Corrections, Otisville, NY until his retirement. He was a member of the Liberty Elk's Lodge #1545, and a parishioner of St. Peter's Church in Liberty. John enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was very generous and donated to many organizations. John was predeceased by his wife of 41 years, Marjorie Mae Cole Morgans Bogan, who passed away on December 01, 2018. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, one son, Dale Eric Morgans (Andra), one daughter, Rhonda Catherine Morgans Toohey Fox (Joe), both of Claryville, one sister, MaryAnn Kelsey (Frank) of Ormond Beach, Fla., four grandchildren, Brian Toohey (Christie), Michael Toohey, Craig Morgans, Karley Morgans Calabrese (Joe), and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Colonial-Ramsay Funeral Home, 275 S. Main Street, Liberty, NY on Sunday January 06, 2019 from 4-7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 07, 2019 at St. Peter's Church, Liberty, NY at 10:30 AM. Fr. Badar will be officiating. Interment will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery, Cold Spring Road, Liberty, NY.
