Kelly Vassmer, a longtime resident of Kauneonga Lake, NY, passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at Riverview Manor Nursing Home in Owego, NY. She was 84. The daughter of the late Alexander and Catherine Busch Kelly, she was born on September 21, 1929 in the Bronx. Kitty was a member of the Bethel Catholic Club and the Kauneonga Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary. She worked at Vassmer's General Store in Kauneonga Lake for many years. She is survived by her son, John F. Vassmer and his wife Sharon of Ogdensburg, NY; her daughter, Trudy Ann Buchler and her husband William of Owego, NY; four grandchildren, Nathan and Emma Vassmer and Jesse and Sean Buchler; sister-in-law, Marion Vassmer of Kauneonga Lake, NY; nieces, Linda Vassmer and Vicky Vassmer Simpson and husband Steve, all of Kauneonga Lake, NY; three great-nieces, Amanda Jackson, Heather Brown and Kayla Brown Stycchini and two great-great-nephews, Aden Stanton and Ian Jackson. She was predeceased by her husband, Frederick J. Vassmer. Friends may call on Friday, March 21, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Ramsay's Funeral Home, 3534 State Route 5, Kauneonga Lake, NY. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 22 at 11 AM at the funeral home. Rev. Bridgette LeConey will officiate. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Bethel, NY.
