Obituary of Patricia Procak

Patricia Egan Procak passed peacefully on Tuesday July 3, 2018 surrounded by family in Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket RI. Pat was born in Newburgh NY on January 8, 1922. She was the daughter of Judge Raphael A. Egan and Frances (Greaney) Egan. She earned her high school diploma from Mount St Mary's in Newburgh and her Bachelor's Degree in history from St. Mary of the Woods in Terra Haute, Indiana. She began her teaching career in Pine Bush NY at which time she attended a West Point USO dance where she met her future husband, George J. Procak. After wedding on June 27, 1943, Pat traveled with George to Biloxi Mississippi as he earned his pilot's wings serving in the Army Air Corp in WWII. George was shot down over Germany and served as a prisoner of war, Pat waited for his safe return with her parents in Newburgh NY. After the war Pat and George made a family life together in Westwood New Jersey where they raised their five daughters. Once her youngest daughter was in school, Pat returned to teaching history at Immaculate Heart Academy (IHA) in Washington Township NJ. It wasn't long before Pat decided her true professional calling was counseling. She received her Master's Degree from Montclair State University in NJ and served Westwood High School as Guidance Counselor for many years, cherished by her students as Mrs. "P". In retirement Pat and George split their time between their lake house in the Catskills of NY and Phoenix AZ playing golf, serving her Roman Catholic parishes, and always a biography or history book by her side. Pat was predeceased by George, her beloved husband of 67 years, her daughter Dr. Patricia Soller Bartholomew, her daughter Elizabeth 'Betsy' Larkin and son-in-law Derwood 'Wood' Tyler. She leaves behind daughter and son-in-law Francie and Ted Noyes of Boulder, Colorado, daughter Christine 'Tina' Tyler of Bellingham, MA, daughter and son-in-law Dr. Kate and Paul Douglas of Corning, NY and sons-in-law Geoffrey Bartholomew of White Lake NY and David Larkin of Fairplay, Colorado. Pat is also survived by nine grandchildren; Tara Tyler Berry of Franklin, MA., Becca Soller of Port Washington NY, Michael Noyes of Bayside NY, Matt Douglas of San Leandro, CA, Rafe Bartholomew of Los Angeles CA, Diana Noyes of Denver CO, Paul Larkin of Boulder CO, Kimberly Larkin Lopez of Garden City, Kansas and Jonathan Douglas of Kesennuma, Japan; four great grandchildren Aedan Noyes, Paige Berry, Fiona Noyes and Aiofe Noyes and many nieces and nephews all of whom brought her great joy. Calling hours will be Sunday July 8th from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. at the Colonial-Ramsay Funeral Home in Kauneonga Lake, NY and a funeral mass will be held Monday July 9th at 10:00 A.M. at St Anthony's in Yulan NY. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to either the Villa at Saint Antoine in North Smithfield RI or St Anthony's in Yulan NY.
