Obituary of Earl L Lilley

Earl L. Lilley, longtime resident of Bethel, passed away on Monday, July 23, 2018. He was 78.

He was the son of the late Emerson Lilley and Eleanor Ort, born on January 19, 1940 in Monticello, NY.

Earl proudly served our country in the US Army from 1962 until 1968. He worked as a senior clerk for the NY Office of Court Administration in Monticello for 51 years. In his free time he was past president of the clerks association of the office of court administration of NYS, Master of Monticello Grange #1357, past president of the Happy Footers Square Dance Club, executive team member in the Elk Mountain Square Dance Club in Pennsylvania, secretary of the Evergreen Cemetery in Bethel. He was an avid gardener, who aided his community by donating organic food to the local food pantries and he diligently worked with all three grandsons on their Eagle Scout projects and assisted with 2 granddaughters Girl Scout Gold Award projects. He was also a member of the St. Peter's Church in Liberty. He loved to travel specifically with his wife Sharon. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all who knew him, he will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his wife Sharon J. Lilley; his sons Louis and his wife Anna and Lynn and his wife Barbara; as well as his grandchildren: Anna Jane, Nicole, Amanda, Benjamin, Jacob and Jonah. He is predeceased by his daughter Lisa Lilley.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 26th from 4 to 8pm at Colonial-Ramsay Funeral Home, 3534 State Route 55, Kauneonga Lake, NY 12749. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 27th at 11am at St. Peter's Church, 262 N. Main St. Liberty, NY 12754. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Bethel, NY.
