Home: Smallwood, New York USA Place of Birth: Liberty, New York USA Obituary Evelyn J. LaPolt Smallwood, NY Evelyn J. LaPolt, 71, went home to the Lord on Wednesday April 2, 2014 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris, NY. She was the daughter of Herbert and Iva Foster and was born on April 29, 1942 in Liberty, NY. She was retired from Monticello Central Schools as a bus aide, a job she had for many years. Evelyn is survived by her husband of 51 years, Sam LaPolt, Jr. of Smallwood; two sons, Keith LaPolt and his companion Tammy LaPolt and Gary LaPolt and a daughter Amy, all of Smallwood, NY; two grandsons, Garrett and Kyle LaPolt and two granddaughters, Angelica and Kayla LaPolt; two great-grandsons ; a sister, Linda Blais (Robert) of Bethel, NY; five brothers, Doug Foster(Dorothy) of Narrowsburg, NY, Jack Foster (Marjory) of Kauneonga Lake, NY; Charles Foster (Alicia) of White Lake, NY, Keith Foster and companion, Norma Rose of Ashville, NC and Donald Foster (Frances) of Sorrento, FL; sister-in-law, Kathy LaPolt Neuenhoff of Bethel, NY , many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her loving parents, Herbert and Iva Foster; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Anne and Samuel LaPolt; sister, Frances Foster DeFazio; brother Arthur Foster and brother-in-law, Richard LaPolt. Evelyn was a loving and dear wife, mother, nana and sister. She loved her grandchildren dearly and was proud of all of them. The LaPolt family would like to thank the ICU Doctors and Nurses at Catskill Regional for taking such excellent care of Evelyn during her stay. Friends may call on Saturday, April 5 from Noon to 2 PM at Ramsay's Funeral Home, 3534 Rt 55, Kauneonga Lake, NY. Funeral services will be at 2 PM at the funeral home. Ginny Bossley will officiate. Burial will follow at Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery in Liberty. Memorial contributions may be made to Sam LaPolt Jr. c/o Linda Blais, 108 Taggart Rd., Cochecton, NY 12726.
