Obituary of Hazel Belle Williams

Home: Monticello, New York USA Place of Birth: Martin County, North Carolina USA Obituary Hazel Belle Williams Monticello, NY Evangelist Hazel Belle Williams, a resident of Sullivan County for over 50 years, departed this life and went home to be with the Lord on October 31, 2017 at the age of 79. She was the daughter of the late Willie Crandle and Allie G. Salisbury and was born in Martin County, NC on May 25, 1938. Hazel attended School in North Carolina and later met and married the late Minister Charles Gilbert Williams and to this union three children were born. Hazel relocated to Monticello NY and was employed by The Catskill Shopper. She was also employed by Anita and Jack Numerson as their nanny. Hazel was baptized in the name of JESUS and filled with the Holy Ghost. Hazel was chosen by the LORD to Minister the Gospel and was later called and licensed to become an Evangelist. Evangelist Hazel took her calling very serious. Evangelist Hazel was about her Father's Business, not only did she Preach the Word of God but she taught Sunday School, served as head of the Youth department and has served on many boards at both King's Chapel Mission under the leadership of the late Reverend Jesse Wrenn and at Little Grove Holiness under the leadership of Bishop Thomas E Ward Sr. Hazel was a very special woman with a loving and beautiful soul. Hazel genuinely loved children so much so that she fostered over 20 children and raised many of her nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. She is known to many family and friends as "GRANDMA"- that just shows how much she loved children and they loved her. Evangelist Hazel loved her church hats and was known by everyone as the lady with the hats. When she put on a hat she really wore that hat. Hazel had so many hats in so many colors it was as if they were a part of her. Hazel also loved her brooches and flowers and plants. Evangelist Hazel was always smiling and talking to people. Hazel had her own special language and the way she spoke was funny to us at times, but we knew when she meant business. Hazel treated everyone nicely and was always a genuine person. She has truly let her light shine. Evangelist Hazel Williams leaves to cherish her beautiful legacy two sons Dennis (Tomasa) and Christopher (Angelica) both of Monticello NY; daughter Carolyn Of Monticello NY and her nieces whom she raised as her daughters Pamela Jackson of Woodridge NY and Beverly Valle of Newburgh, NY; grandchildren Rashonda of Liberty, NY, Shawn, Jazmine of Monticello NY, Jacqlene Valle of Bronx NY, Adrianna and Christopher Jr. both of Florida and Shaquille Williams. Hazel has seven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson; Yanayisa, G'Niiyah, Jaylisa, Z'Cari and Micaiah all of Monticello NY and Kyra and Za'Kyii both of Albany N.Y and Genesis Reed of Bronx NY; three sisters Shirley Crandle, Glenda Walker and Barbara(Otis) Godard all of Monticello NY; four brothers, Alander(Marie)Crandle, Johnnie(Joann) Crandle, Lonnie(Luz) Crandle and Gene(Kathy) Crandle; her close In-laws Ida Bell and Emma Jean Larkins, Donald Larkins of Currie, NC and Leroy Larkins of Hyattsville, MD.
