Lubniewski Mongaup Valley, NY Anna Lubniewski, a longtime Mongaup Valley resident, passed away at the Sullivan County Adult Care Center in Liberty, NY on Thursday June 8, 2017 at the age of 89. Born on May 28, 1928 in Jessup, PA, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Anna Skalsky. Anna had been a waitress at Bernies Holiday Restaurant for many years. She was a member of St. Peter's Church in Monticello and was very community minded. She belonged to Smallwood-Mongaup Valley Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary; was a member of Bethel Senior Citizens; delivered meals on wheels; was a Sullivan County Literacy Volunteer ; a member of the Red Hatters Club and Anna ran the daycare program at Dr. Duggan School in White Lake. She is survived by sons, Anthony (Christine) Lubniewski of Mongaup Valley and Michael (Diane) of Smallwood; her daughter, Patricia Lubniewski of Monticello; brother, Edward Skalsky of Virginia; sisters, Eleanor (Joseph) Lubniewski of Smallwood and Rosemary (Richard) Remsberg of Maryland; grandchildren, Erik (Donna) Lubniewski, Jessica, Corey and Jason Lubniewski, Dennis Morgan (Katie) and Karleen (Moira) O'Connell-Morganstein; great-grandchildren, Erik Jr., Aiden and Samuel and many nieces and nephews. Anna was predeceased by her husband, Anthony Lubniewski in 1987 and by a brother, Stanley Skalsky and a sister-in-law, Marie Skalsky. Visiting hours are on Sunday June 11, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Ramsay's Funeral Home, 3534 Route 55, Kauneonga Lake, NY. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, June 12 at 10 AM at St. Peter's Church in Monticello, NY. Burial will follow the mass at Evergreen Cemetery in Bethel, NY. The Lubniewski family would like to express their thanks and appreciation for the wonderful care given to their mother by the staff at the Sullivan County Adult Care Center.
