Obituary of Gladys Zweck

Home: Liberty, New York USA Place of Birth: Liberty, New York USA Obituary Gladys Zweck Liberty, NY Gladys Zweck, a lifetime Liberty resident, passed away on Sunday June 18, 2017 at the Sullivan County Adult Care Center at the age of 89. Gladys was born on July 30, 1927 to the late Harold E. and Mildred Stanton Smith. She was predeceased by her husband, William J. Zweck, in 2008. Gladys was a loving, caring, supportive and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She and her husband Bill were married for sixty-two years. Her passion was tending her large vegetable garden where not a weed was allowed to grow and her beautiful flower garden was a showcase from early spring to late fall. Many hours were spent in the kitchen baking pies, cookies and cakes, cooking delicious dinners and preserving the harvest from her garden. All the grandkids loved her dill pickles and applesauce. Gladys was a soft spoken person with an easy and a gentle smile. Gladys was an active community member. She attended the Liberty Presbyterian Church, the Catskill Mountain Doll Club, the Liberty Garden Club, the Cooperative Extension Tea Timers Group and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and was also a 4-H leader. Survivors include her daughter, Janet LeRoy of Liberty; her sons, William R. Zweck of Gilbert, AZ and David B. Zweck and his wife Bernadette of Woodridge, NY; son-in-law, Martin LeRoy of Liberty; grandchildren, Jude Ingato, Owen Zweck and wife Jill, Amanda Holland and husband Sean, Nicole Zweck and Jennifer Zweck; great-grandchildren, Gabe, Alex, Donovan, Richard, Nicholas, Elena and Leila and a foster son, Charles Kester. Visiting hours are on Sunday, June 25 from 3 - 6 PM at Ramsay's Funeral Home, 275 S. Main St. Liberty, NY. Funeral services will be held at Ramsay's Funeral Home on Monday June 26 at 11 AM with Rev. Kenneth Rodgers officiating. Burial at Liberty Cemetery will follow. Memorial contributions may be made to Liberty Presbyterian Church, 81 S. Main St. Liberty, NY 12754 or to Family Council - Sullivan County Adult Care Center, 256 Sunset Lake Rd. Liberty, NY 12754.
