Obituary of Eric Morgan Peters

Home: Monticello, New York USA Place of Birth: Monticello, New York USA Eric Morgan Peters Monticello, NY Eric Morgan Peters, 55, a Monticello resident, ended his battle with cancer at the Montrose VA Hospital on Wednesday December 7, 2016. He was born in Monticello, NY on April 25, 1961 to the late Frank and Mabel (McNeil) Peters. Eric entered the Air Force in 1979, where he received the Air Force Training Ribbon, Air Force Overseas Long Term Ribbon and the Air Force Longevity Service Ribbon. He served for four years. After the service, he joined Local 147 Sandhogs Union, Bronx, NY. He also attended the University of South Alabama, where he studied Culinary Arts. He also worked as a prep chef in various locations in NYC. He will be remembered as a person who loved watching sports, the news and Jeapordy. According to a friend, he was great at trivia, pinnochle and was always in the spotlight acting up while in school. He was preceded in death by his brothers, James, David, Frank Jr. and Timothy. Left to mourn are his sister, Tiffany Peters (Alpheus) Gibbs of Monticello, NY; his sister-in-law, Amber Cole of Monticello, NY; his nieces, J'Aimelle Sledge (Delwin) of Fairhope, AL, Nakeeta Cole of Monticello, NY and Symphany Gibbs and his nephew Mikhah Gibbs; great-nieces, Saniya, Bella and great-nephew Delwin Jr.; two aunts, Fannie Mae Lewis of Mobile, AL and Roberta Hildreth of Elyria, Ohio and a host of cousins and friends. Visitation took place on Saturday, December 10, 2016 from Noon to 1 PM at Ramsay's Funeral Home, 55 St. John St. Monticello, NY. Funeral services were at the funeral home at 1 PM with Pastor Alpheus Gibbs officiating. Burial followed at Sullivan Count Veterans Cemetery with Military Funeral Honors.
