Obituary of Shirley Ann Bush

Please share a memory of Shirley to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Shirley Ann Bush, born on November 22, 1953 in Middletown, NY, passed away on May 5, 2023 in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loved ones.

Shirley was predeceased by her parents Lucy Hallock and Emmett “Speedy” Travis; three sisters, and one brother; as well as her husband Howard Bush.

She is survived by daughter Cindy Kozachuk and her husband Jared Kozachuk; son Roy F. Beam, Jr. and his wife Megan Zobel; brother Jesse Beach, Sr.; sister April Salazar; grandchildren Tabatha, Louis, Jessica, Alivia and Korbin; great-grandchildren Abbigail, Lilliana, Eva, Thea, Lucy, Brantley and Lorenzo; as well as dozens of nieces and nephews; and her best friends Birdie and Billy Demming.

Shirley enjoyed any time she could get seeing or talking to her grandchildren. Her love for Elvis songs was well known. She took great joy in going to yard sales and doing small arts and crafts. Shirley would joke about being part gypsy because of her urge to pack up and go. Her heart always brought her back to Sullivan County. Shirley loved to sit and play dominoes with whoever was willing to play. She would play a variety of card games and just enjoyed having company. However, she also liked her alone time. Shirley lived her life on her terms and those who knew her well knew she had her own way of doing things. There is a special thank you to Robin Villafane for all the help and support you so willingly gave to Shirley without question.

You will be greatly missed, and our hearts are heavy with sadness. Your passing was graceful and you’re no longer in any pain. Rest in peace Mom, Nana, Shirley, we love you.
