Robert Daniel Rose, longtime resident of Liberty, NY passed away on Friday, April 14, 2023. He was 89.

He was the son of the late Daniel Rose and Margaret E. Olrich, born on May 31, 1933, in Liberty, NY.

He proudly served our country during the Korean War from 1956 to 1958 in the US Army. He worked for Liberty-Middletown Express for 29 years as a driver delivering freight in Sullivan, Delaware, Ulster and Orange Counties. He also worked in the family business.

He spent his time helping the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Liberty, NY with the food pantry including buying the supplies of food for the church, transporting the food and setting the food on the shelves. On Wednesday s was the community meal and he would also deliver food for the shut-ins. And help with meals for the helpers. The crew had a very good Sergeant at Arms, Peggy Burns, where everything had to be cleaned before everyone went home at her command, whom Robert found fun to be with. He was an avid skier who went to Alta Mountain, Utah in February as he found it too cold in January each year. He loved to travel to the Caribbean and go to Philadelphia. He was a member of a photography club, enjoyed going to concerts and American History. He had fond memories of his older cousin Elfriede and would bring her flowers.

He is survived by his cousin Henry Huber of Livingston Manor; second cousins. Doug Rose and Linda Rose of Binghamton and Hilde Koch and Robert Kavleski of Liberty. He is predeceased by his parents, sisters Danielle Rose, Margaret Rose and Jean Rose Bant and her husband Irv.
