Obituary of Adele Vaccaro Scoles

Adele Vaccaro Scoles entered into eternal rest on August 9, 2022. She was 98. Adele was the daughter of Virginia and Vincent Vaccaro and was born and raised in Yonkers, New York. She was predeceased by her three brothers Joe and Silvio who were WWII veterans and John joined the Navy when he was 19. During World War II, Adele met and married her beloved husband, Robert Scoles, who served his country for four years. He was the son of Lily and Alva Scoles of Bluffton, Ohio. He was the youngest of five children but sadly lost his battle with cancer at the age of 54. Adele was employed as Executive Secretary to the President of an Electronics Company for seventeen years and later choose banking as her second career. In 1990, without any family or friends in Orange County, Adele moved to Goshen, NY, and started a new chapter in her life. She became a parishioner at St. John the Evangelist Church and was a member of the adult choir for the past 27 years. Adele was blessed with many wonderful friends and neighbors who were very kind and caring. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Lillian Scoles, a retired Language Arts teacher at the Ellenville Central School System; as well as Lillian's loving companion and longtime family friend, Bill Greisbeck; and also leaves behind her faithful dog, Brandi. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Church, 34 South Chestnut Street, New Paltz, NY on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at 12:00 pm. A private interment will take place at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Hastings-On-Hudson, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations in Adele's name can be made to Hudson Valley Hospice Foundation, 80 Washington Street, Suite 204, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601, or to Woodland Pond at New Paltz, Employee Fund Assisted Living Bldg. 100 Woodland Pond Circle, New Paltz, NY 12561.
