Mary Ann Popet, formerly of Greenfield Park, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home with her children by her side on September 22, 2021. She was 76. Mary Ann was born on June 12, 1945 in Sloatsburg, NY to Jimmy and Dorothy Gannon. Family was the light of Mary Ann's life. She was a homemaker, devoted to her husband, John, and their nine children. She was a true matriarch who enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, tending to her home, and spending time outdoors. Mary Ann is survived by her sons, Joseph Popet and his wife, Kimberly, and Daniel Popet, all of Greenfield Park, her daughters, Dorothy Rose of Woodridge, Patricia Popet of Florida, Margaret Bailey of Loch Sheldrake, Veronica Abada of Miami, and Mary Ann McIntosh of Neversink, her grandchildren, in particular her special grandson JJ, aka James, who was always there to help his grandmother, and friends. She is predeceased by her beloved husband, John Popet, her son, John Popet, Jr., and her daughter, Loretta Crowley. A visitation will be held on Monday, September 27, 2021 from 2-4 pm at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY, followed by a funeral service at 3:30pm with Rev. Walter Haff officiating. Social distancing guidelines will be in place; masks must be worn at all times.
