Obituary of Joyce Mary Rose

Joyce Mary Rose, of Greenfield Park, NY passed away on Monday, July 5, 2021, at Westchester Medical Center. She was 78.

She was the daughter of the late Joseph Danilow and Mary (Wagner) Danilow, born on March 4, 1943 in Brooklyn, NY.

Joyce was a true matriarch.  She was the devoted head of her family and the glue that kept them together and she took pride in that position. She enjoyed sewing and square dancing. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband of 61 years, whom she married on November 28, 1959, Clarence Rose, Jr; children Joseph Rose and his wife Yvette, Victoria Stanton, David Rose and his wife Lillian, and Michael Rose; grandchildren Cathleen Rose, Trish Gold (Tyler), Stephanie and Jennifer Rose, Heather Manor (Frank), John Stanton, Scottie, Christopher, David Jr., Jonathan, and Cassandra Rose; her great-grandchildren Pearl Gold and Jailyn, Amber Manor and Scotty Rose Jr.; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her brother Joseph Danilow, her parents, and her sister Mary Jane Genovese.

A visitation will be held from 11am to 1pm on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY 12788. A funeral service will be held at 1pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Grahamsville Rural Cemetery.
