Manuela Gonzalez Paralegal, 83

Manuela Gonzalez, "Nelly" of Liberty, a secretary for John F. Kennedy's administration and secretary for Cook & McBride Davis & Greenburg died Friday, February 19, 2021. She was surrounded by her loved ones at home.

The daughter of Sotero and Mercedes Torrens, Nelly was born January 1, 1938, in Fajardo, Puerto Rico on a farm.

She moved to New York at the age of 13 in pursuit of better opportunities. She Attended City College in Manhattan and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Law. Known for her beauty as well as her wits, she won many beauty pageants, including "Prettiest Miss, Queen of Mardi Gras" in 1957. She eventually took her talents to Washington, Virginia and New York as a Legal Secretary. In her twilight years she enjoyed relaxing at home in Sullivan County with her family, pets and taking vacations.

She has survived by her daughter Lori Kole, her grandson Tyler Kole and her beloved cats.

There will be a memorial gathering at her home 185 Lake St, Liberty, N.Y. at 3pm. March 7, 2021 for those interested in attending.
