Taylor Bracey, Jr. "Pete" was born to the late John Taylor Bracey, Sr. and the late Essie Lee O'Bannon Bracey on April 30, 1943 in Bay Minette, Alabama. Taylor entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, August 18, 2020. He was 77 years old. Taylor was baptized as a young teenager at St. Mary Baptist Church in Hurricane, Alabama under Reverend Jones. Later on he was Baptized at Bethlehem Temple Holiness Church in Bromley, Alabama under Pastor Isaiah Hawkins. Taylor was very popular in high school especially in his junior and senior year where he was voted best dressed. Taylor graduated from Douglasville High School in Bay Minette, Alabama on May 16th, 1962. Taylor relocated to Monticello, NY immediately after graduating high school where he worked at Hamilton Avenue Hospital in Monticello. It was there that he would meet his future wife. Taylor then worked as a truck driver for AT Reynolds/Leisure Time Ice and Spring Water for over 30 years before his retirement. Taylor married the love of his life Carolyn Valaida Pope in 1967. They were married for 23 years, this union was blessed with 3 children, Craig Bracey (Jacqueline) of Heartland, Texas, Theresa Bracey of Monticello, New York, and Shantel Garcia (Efrain) of Westbrookville, New York. He leaves behind four grandchildren to cherish his memories, Brendon Bracey, Gary Bracey, Taylor Bracey and Christopher Bracey, three step-grandchildren, Cliff Garcia, James Garcia and Roseanne Garcia, five step great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his long-time companion Carolyn Williams, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceeded in death by his wife Carolyn Valaida Bracey and his sister Earlean Bracey McCoy. He is survived by his siblings, Steve Bracey of Brooklyn, NY, Samuel Bracey (Armelda), Leslie "Sonny" Bracey, Jimmie Lee Bracey (Christiana), Tim "Juke" Koen (Linda) all from Monticello, NY. Millie Bracey White (Sydney) and Gladys Bracey Smith both of Miami, FL and his very special aunt Annabelle O'Bannon of Middletown, NY. Sleep on Taylor, take your well-deserved rest. We all love you dearly, but God loves you best.
