Parris Goetschius, 61, of Liberty passed away on May 8, 2015 at the Health Alliance of Kingston. She will be dearly missed. Parris was born on March 25, 1954 to Eugene and Gertrude Kniskern in Kingston, NY. Parris served her community by volunteering at the Pregnancy center. She was a devout member of the Calvary Baptist Church. She enjoyed working with ceramics and her sewing clubs. Most of all she loved her kids and grandkids. Parris leaves behind her beloved husband of thirty-five years George. Along with her daughter Wendi and husband William Rosado of Loch Sheldrake, her son George Goetschius Jr. of Indiana, her sister Mitchele Smeltzer of Saratoga Springs, Four sister-in-laws: Martha Goestschius, Cathy Goestschius, Cindy and husband Steve Webber, and Betty Fenical, Six grandchildren: Brianna, Heather, David, Baomi, William Jr. and Isabel Parris. A visitation will be held in Parris’ honor on Tuesday, May 2, from 11 to 1 pm at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52 Woodbourne NY 12788. A funeral service will follow at 1 o’clock. Parris will be laid to rest in the Sullivan County Veteran’s Cemetery in Liberty.
