Home: Swan Lake, New York USA Place of Birth: Odd, West Virginia USA Harvey Lee Lazarus Swan Lake, NY Harvey Lee Lazarus was born to Dorothy Ruby Reedy on May 26, 1948 in the coal mines of Odd, W.Va. He moved to the Bronx, NY the age of 5 and was adopted by his father, Charlie Lazarus. Dad proudly served in the US Navy as a Hull Technician 3rd class on many nuclear submarines. He served two tours in Viet Nam, during which time the president called our grandmother and stated his admiration for dad volunteering for 13 Gunner Missions. Dad saw the world in the Navy and loved it. In the 17 yrs. he was in the Navy, he went everywhere from the Brooklyn Naval Yards to Rota de Santa Maria, Spain. He ended his career in Groton, Ct. Dad is survived by his ex-wife and friend, Linda O'Dell; daughters ,Linda Lee and Archie Thoby and children Jimmy and Abbie Rose Lazarus of Walden, Olani Marie and Timothy Maher and their children Kai, Paige and Evan of Wappingers Falls, Brandy Teresa and Daniel Ricci and their amphibious children of Putnam Valley; step-son, Ram Verma and grandson Edwin; brothers, Leonard and Peggy Lotz and Wayne and Geri Lotz; sisters, Teresa Lotz, Karen and Jerry Zeier and Brenda Morgan and many, many cousins, nieces and nephews. Although Dad wasn't always the man he wanted to be, in the end, he was the man HE needed to be. As he told me not to long ago "you can't go back and change the past, kid, all you can do is let it go and pray God gives you tomorrow to do what you can to make it better" We love you Dad...til we meet again...
