Obituary of Harry Lounsbury

Home: Monticello, New York USA Place of Birth: Hurleyville, New York USA Harry "Jim" Lounsbury Monticello, NY formerly of Hurleyville, NY Harry "Jim" Lounsbury, a lifelong Sullivan County resident, passed away on Sunday August 25, 2013 at the Sullivan County Adult Care Center in Liberty, NY. He was 90. The son of the late Daniel W. and Grace Reynolds Lounsbury, he was born on January 10, 1923 in Hurleyville, NY. Jim was a retired union carpenter. He was a member of the Hurleyville United Methodist Church and was a lifetime member of Hurleyville VFW Post # 1575 and he was a member of the Hurleyville Cemetery Assn. He was also actively involved in various community affairs. He is survived by his sons, James Lewis (Diana) Lounsbury of Jacksonville, FL and Paul R. Lounsbury (Kathy) of Grahamsville, NY; his brother, Albert Lounsbury of Albany, NY; his sisters, Alida Brinckerhoff of Middletown, NY and Joan Dunn-Lindsay of Wurtsboro, NY; four grandchildren, Jill Woodruff, Ashley Spangenberg, Cara Dillon and Allison Buckingham; eight great-grandchildren, Zoe and Carlee Woodruff, Jack and Caroline Spangenberg, Brian Dillon III, Cadence Dillon and Natalie and Julia Buckingham. He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara Lounsbury and a son, Dennis Lounsbury. Friends may call at Ramsay's Funeral Home, 55 St. John St. Monticello on Friday August 30, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be held on Saturday August 31 at 11 AM at the Hurleyville United Methodist Church. Rev. Susan Woodworth will officiate. Burial will follow at Hurleyville Cemetery.
