Bertholf, a lifelong area resident, passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2014 as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was 41 years of age. The son of Marvin J. Bertholf Jr. and Ellen Cole Bertholf, he was born in Liberty, NY on January 19, 1973. Kurt was a longtime employee of Liberty Trading Post in Liberty, NY. He is survived by his parents, Marvin "Mike" and Ellen Bertholf Jr. of Woodbourne, NY; his maternal grandparents, Raymond and Thelma Cole of Woodbourne, NY; his brother, Marvin J. Bertholf III and his fiancé, Jennifer Starnes of Dallas, NC; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Marvin and Florence Bertholf and his brother, Chad Bertholf. Friends and family may call on Friday, December 26 from 4 - 8 PM at Ramsay's Funeral Home, 275 S. Main St. Liberty, NY. Funeral services will be on Saturday, December 27 at 10 AM at Ramsay's Funeral Home. Burial will follow in St. Aloysius Cemetery in Livingston Manor. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
